Resumo

According to long-term 6-year experiments, a significant decrease in the concentration of dissolved fluorine in seawater was established during its interaction with ultrabasic and basic igneous rocks: dunite, gabbro-norite, and basalt. It is concluded that submarine weathering (halmyrolysis) of rocks of the oceanic crust is a significant expenditure item in the geochemical balance of fluorine in the World Ocean.
