The article gives the analysis of amnesty of the British government in the Highlands of Scotland during the largest Jacobite rebellions (supporters of returning the Stuarts excluded in the Glorious revolution to the British throne), in 1715-1745. Connection between amnesty and weak military and political role of London in the Highlands in the context of legalist tradition and negative attitude of the British political nation to an impressive regular army in Britain is revealed.
В статье анализируются амнистирующие мероприятия британского правительства в Горной Шотландии между крупнейшими мятежами якобитов (сторонников возвращения изгнанных в ходе Славной революции Стюартов на британский престол), в 1715-1745 гг. Раскрывается связь между амнистией и слабым военно-политическим присутствием Лондона в Хайленде в контексте легалистской традиции и негативного отношения британской политической нации к наличию внушительной постоянной армии в Британии.
